Keely Flis is from Vernon Hills, Illinois. At North Shore School of Dance, she trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Pointe. While there, she was accepted into the Sr. Ensemble Contemporary Company, as well as the C is for Chicago (CIC) Hip Hop Company. She performed in multiple productions of the Nutcracker at this studio.
Keely also trained at Talent Forum and Dance Center North, where she focused on Ballet, Jazz, and Modern. She studied Martha Graham Technique in New York City, after being part of the restaging of the masterpiece, Helios. Keely was Captain on the Vernon Hills High School Varsity Dance Team, and she is also a former member of the Iowa Dance Team. On her college dance team, she performed at Football and Basketball Big 10 Championships. Keely performed at the Rose Bowl and 2016 Wrestling Olympic Trials. Now, she is a Vernon Hills High School Dance Team Assistant Coach and Choreographer.
Keely works for Universal Dance Association (UDA), where she teaches high school and college dance team across the U.S., which requires teaching Pom, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Kick routines. She also teaches technique and choreographs for UDA. Keely is currently enrolled at the University of Iowa, working towards her BA in Dance, a minor in Communications Studies, along with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship in Performing Arts. Keely has performed in several UI Dance Department concerts, including among others Dance Gala and Faculty Graduate Concert. She is excited to have been selected as a member of the pre-professional dance company, Dancers in Company (DIC).
