Spring Concert Participation Agreement
Performers in the UIYB 2026 Spring Concert from levels all of Modern and Ballet (Pre-Ballet- Level 2B) and their families agree to the following expectations:
1. Attend and participate fully in the required number of weekly UIYB technique classes according to the current policy published on the spring concert overview.
2. Make up missed technique classes by attending another UIYB class (any class at the same or lower level). More than two missed classes without make-ups are not allowed and may result in removal from a portion or the entirety of the performance
3. Attend and participate fully in all scheduled rehearsals (including wearing proper attire with hair secured).
4. Attend all rehearsals scheduled in the theater during Production Week, Sunday, April 19-Thursday, April 23, 2026
5. Arrive at call time and perform in all three scheduled concerts: Friday, April 24, 2026 – 7:00pm, Saturday, April 25, 2025 – 2:00pm, 7:00pm
6. If emergency circumstances arise that cause an absence from a rehearsal or performance commitment, immediately contact the UIYB main office so that the staff can determine a course of action. Similarly, report promptly all student illnesses or injuries.
7. All rehearsals in the studios are closed to observers. Rehearsals in the theater are closed to observers beginning on Monday of Production/Tech Week (April 20, 2026) onward, except for family volunteers quietly observing or volunteering during Dress Rehearsal #1 (date to be announced).
8. Parents/guardians who are not scheduled to volunteer during dress rehearsals and performances will leave their child’s assigned classroom after 10 minutes of settling their child in.
9. No personal photographs or videos may be taken during rehearsals or performances except for the purpose of rehearsal practice. Rehearsal videos may not be published to any online public platform.
10. A professional performance video will be made available to families following the concert at no cost. Public distribution of the performance video is not allowed.
11. Participation in this performance includes granting permission for your child’s photograph to be used for University of Iowa publicity and marketing purposes.
12. No refunds of performance fees after the second rehearsal, regardless of the reason for withdrawal.
Violation of this agreement may lead to the removal of a student from a portion or the entirety of the performance and will affect a student’s future performance opportunities.
