Come and join two colorful and informative teaching workshops on creative dance for children.

The UI Youth Ballet and Community Dance School is offering two-session workshop on teaching creative dance for children, presented by Joan Gonwa, MA, CMA. Joan is a modern dancer and specialist in creative dance for children. 
 
UI students and staff interested in participating are invited to join us at no cost, courtesy of the UI Community Dance School. This workshop will provide continuing education for current program staff, but no dance experience is required. 
 
Both sessions will meeting in Grey Studio, Halsey Hall:
  • Saturday, May 2, 2026 
    1:00-2:30 p.m. 
  • Saturday, May 9, 2026 
    1:00-2:30 p.m. 
Please wear comfortable workout or dance clothes. Attendees should be barefoot or in socks (no ballet slippers).
