Biography

Originally from Aurora, Illinois, Ellie discovered a passion for dance at an early age. She began studying ballet, modern, contemporary, tap, and jazz at the age of 3, and danced competitively for much of her youth. In 2016, Ellie became a member of a pre-professional youth contemporary company, Elevations Dance Arts (Elburn, IL) under the direction of Catie Deitz-Griffith. During her 5 years as a member of the company, Ellie had the pleasure of training and performing throughout the Chicago area.

Ellie is a third-year student at the University of Iowa, working towards a BFA in Dance and continuing to study ballet, modern, contemporary, and improvisation. Ellie was a proud member of the University of Iowa Dance Company under the Direction of Melinda Jean Myers and Todd Rhoades. Additionally, she has had the pleasure of working with UI faculty and graduate students such as Kristin Marrs, Kieron Dwayne Sargeant, Stephanie Miracle, Katie Phelan, and Sean Thomas Boyt. 

As a teacher for the UI Youth Ballet and Community Dance School, Ellie enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of movement with the community.
