Juliet Remmers

Originally from Lawrence, Kansas, Juliet Remmers began her dance training in classical ballet at the Lawrence Arts Center and has remained committed to artful movement ever since. She holds a BA in Dance from the University of Kansas and an MFA in Dance from the University of Iowa (2022), where she received the Iowa Arts Fellowship, Student Impact Award, Graduate College Summer Fellowship, and GPSG Research Award. Her graduate thesis included a performance of José Limón’s The Moor’s Pavane.

Juliet has taught as a lecturer at the University of Kansas and served as an Adjunct Professor in Dance at the University of Iowa. She is a research associate for DanceLab, a project of LandezArts, and has choreographed for IC Dance Company, also performing with the multidisciplinary trio JULIMAR.

As Artistic Associate, she has led recent youth ballet productions at UI including An Evening of Saint-Saëns, Fairy Tales: Stone Soup and Mother Goose, and A Storybook Nutcracker

As Curriculum Coordinator, Juliet designs syllabi, manages level progression, and mentors instructors in their teaching. She monitors student progress and implements structured milestones so learners move logically through their levels. Juliet stays current by attending teacher trainings, most recently at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and with Lisa Howell of The Ballet Blog—learning contemporary teaching techniques to integrate pedagogical insights and dance science into the curriculum. Juliet continues to teach ballet, modern, conditioning, and yoga with clarity and care, emphasizing injury prevention, playful challenges, expressive focus, and self-awareness.
