Creative Dance 3 and 4

Creative Movement 3 Spring Concert 2024

New this fall, the UI Youth Ballet and Community Dance School are introducing two classes for elementary ages: Creative Dance 3 and 4. Students who also enroll in Pre-Ballet – Level 2B can add-on Creative Dance 3 or 4 at a 24% discount.

These two classes celebrate the imaginative and sensorial potential of kids ages 6-10 as they explore and build their dance vocabulary. Students learn the fundamentals of modern dance and improvisation. Creative Dance challenges children’s autonomy as they explore the chance of decision-making within dance.

New Weeknight Adult Classes

Almost Intermediate Ballet on Thursday evenings is a stepping-stone for students progressing from Continuing Beginner Ballet and Linking Steps to the next level. Almost Intermediate Ballet includes additional movement vocabulary throughout barre work, exercises in center, and traveling movements across the floor while maintaining a moderate pace and incorporating movement explanation. This class is a perfect addition for students who have taken Continuing Beginner Ballet and Linking Steps for at least one full year (2 semesters and 1 summer session) and for Intermediate Ballet students looking to build more ballet into their week.

Continuing Beginner Ballet has a new weeknight offering! We are delighted to offer this long-time Saturday favorite for 75 minutes each Wednesday night this semester.
