Early bird registration is now open! Enrollments completed before the end of the day on December 7, 2023, will have their registration fee waived. The regular registration period will open the next day, December 8, 2023. Click here to register.

Youth Ballet Ensemble Kick-Off

We’re bringing back a Youth Ballet Ensemble tradition. The winter interim intensive is officially back with a kick-off weekend of rehearsals. These days of intensive warm-up classes and rehearsals will give the group a head start to an excellent spring semester.  

More details about the Spring Concert theme will be coming in next month’s newsletter. In the meantime, be sure to plan on attending the classes and rehearsals on January 10-13, 2024. 

Year-Round Curriculum 

The spring semester is crucial for a student’s dance education. For students continuing from the fall, it builds upon foundations built in the first half of the year. Different from most children’s sports seasons, our classes and curriculum are designed for students to take classes at their level year-round, including the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Wee Dance and Creative Movement classes are designed to be taken for 1-2 years before changing levels. Youth division ballet classes are taken for a minimum of one year, with level progression determined by staff in May of each year.  

Being Successful 

Sometimes we encounter parents wondering which level to enroll their child after the fall semester. Students continue in their same level for a minimum of one full school year. We encourage students and families to revisit our class descriptions to answer any questions about ages and levels. Each class is designed to meet between 1 and 5 times per week in accordance with their level.  

Creative Movement Performances 

Creative Movement 2 will have an opportunity to dance in a pre-show event at the Spring Concert matinée on Saturday, May 11, 2024. There will be no additional cost for this opportunity and students will practice during regularly scheduled class times. 

Creative Movement 3 students can sign up to rehearse and perform a choreographed dance in the Spring Concert. For more information, please review our Information for Performers and Parent Volunteers page.
